The goal of the Community School Meal Program is to provide students with a balanced meal during their lunch break.
Meals are cooked by women in the community who have chosen to volunteer the time to prepare meals for the children in both schools. Community members expressed their gratitude and also stated that since the feeding program was implemented, most of the children have been relieved of hunger. The students are grateful to the project and catering for providing them with nutritious meals; because this allows them to concentrate on their studies. Principals and all teaching staff also emphasized that the feeding program not only alleviated hunger but also improved school enrollment, attendance and academic performance. Finally, they appealed that the project should continue to accompany and support the various schools, especially with school meals, since there are no food stands in any of the schools.
